When the generator button becomes red, take a look at the Errors tab. There may be errors talking to your generator. This could be caused by a loose connection, or if you ever have a power brown-out you can lose your connection too. It is a good idea to have a UPS, an uninterruptible power supply, to protect your system from brown-outs.
