You need two remotes UNLESS you have a boost cable, then you can run the sweeps with one remote. So if you have boost right now and one remote you can do the sweeps. I would not purchase another remote just to run the sweeps, i would get a boost cable. It is my understanding that boost is going to be needed for some upcoming new things yet to be released, so might as well go ahead and buy boost.
