By using scomm32.ocx 3rd party control from Axis controls (instead of MScomm32.ocx) Spooky.exe could open 127 comms ports.
At 57600 baud spooky can shift about 5KB a second total for each port. The MScomm32.OCX will only do 16 ports.
One problem I found trying to run under Wine was that the Spooky installation has to register the CP2102 VID and PID for Spooky.exe to run.
Easy to forget: the number shown in the Advanced Menu's "DDS Generators" field must match the number of physical generators connected.
