Can an XM Generator run a GX based scan? Will the XM ignore all the frequencies above 5 MHz?

The XM can run the results of the GX scans, but it cannot perform a GX based scan as it lacks the hardware to do so.
Spooky never ignores frequencies unless you place them on the blacklist (System Tab).
Since the XM has a 5 MHz physical limit, all frequencies above will be converted into a harmonic below 5 MHz.
The XM can be driven up to 25 MHz without loss of power or accuracy, which I have confirmed with my oscilloscope.
In fact, the GX which has a physical limit of 40 MHz, can use the same technique to generate up to 200 MHz without loss of power or accuracy -- also confirmed with my oscilloscope.
May be a bit more information than what you wanted, but writing to all who read.
If given a choice, it is always better to run them on the GX due to its improved resolution over the XM. However, if you need the GX for other functions, an XM is perfectly fine to run it on.
