How can I tell whether my generator is faulty if my computer can't recognize it?

I've had similar errors on multiple generators. Most likely the reason was power surge in the main motherboard.

If you have another spare laptop/desktop where Spooky was not connected, you can try these steps:

  1. Turn off the Spooky machine and remove all cables.
  2. On the different pc/laptop, press the key with Microsoft logo and R together. This will open run window.
  3. Type this and hit Enter key: devmgmt.msc This will open device manager listing all the connected devices.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the list and you will see "universal serial bus" device list. Expand the list.
  5. Now connect the Spooky machine using a new/different usb cable. Turn it on.
  6. As soon as it is recognised, it will show in the device list under usb driver list.
  7. To confirm, you can turn it off and back on after a few seconds gap.
  8. If the entry appears/disappears under USB list in Device manager, it means that device is recognised on the different PC/Laptop. Most likely device is not faulty and we can do more troubleshooting on the faulty PC which doesn't recognise the Spooky machine.

HOWEVER
If the other pc/laptop shows no change in device manager after connecting, that may be due to a faulty Spooky machine.
In this case, I advise to connect with Spooky2 support.
