If anyone has ever had problems running their laptop 24/7. Don't they ever over heat and cause a fire hazard?

I have had multiple laptops on 24/7 for the last 25 years (give or take).

They do not overheat unless you block their air pathways. Dust buildup can also contribute to overheating.

They sell cooling stations that you place under a laptop if you want to add another layer of heat mitigation.

I live in an area where the inside of my house gets to 85 F easily during the summer, and internal temps of the laptops hit over 130 F and have had no issues.

One of my laptops that drives Spooky2 has been on 24/7 for the last 9 years performing various roles.

Any computer built in the last 10 years will have internal temperature sensors and will auto shutoff if any component exceeds their temperature limits. Usually it is the GPU that hits maximum heat first, and the CPU being the second most common reason.

You are more likely to have a fire hazard risk from your cell phone than a laptop, but the risk is not 100% mitigated as with anything in life.
