The idea is that each chakra, like every organ, meridian, and part of the body, has a resonant frequency that will help remove blockages and improve energy flow. In my experience using the chakra and solfeggio programs in the Spooky2 software, it's a very subtle effect and isn't going to accomplish much by itself if there are other mitigating factors that are contributing to the block. So I think you are on the right track in using the frequencies in combination with other therapies such as visualization and mindfulness since emotions tend to be one of the biggest contributors to illness and disease.
