Why we do not need high frequency carrier waves to deliver the 'knock- out' punch to pathogens?

Longitudinal waves of lower frequencies are apparently absorbed by our biological cells and liquids whereas the high frequencies are propagated right through the liquids delivering their energy packets elsewhere than where we need it to kill pathogens inside our cells.
