After needing to replace the communication board in the generator I’m now having the software tell me generator error. Any ideas?

I used to be a telecommunications equipment installer. I frequently dealt with problems of static build-up. The usual first fix was to shut down all of the involved equipment and unplug everything from both power and other equipment, wait 10 minutes and re-plug and restart Your comment about the communication board replacement in generator XM makes me wonder about static as a possible cause of the problems. It's Winter. Static is more of a problem in Winter. This solved a lot of problems for me. It's even possible that your old board wasn't really bad. This is quick, easy, and doesn't cost you anything but about 10 minutes of your time. I hope it works for you!

  • With 30 years in electronics, if you have replaced the board and are still getting errors I would look to your cables or other areas for the problem.
