Most of the time, you would choose a Program for your specific type of cancer. Some people put all Programs for their cancer type in a Grade Scan to see what frequencies are most needed - but I would probably just do a GenX scan and include two copies of it in the Preset.
Remember, the Cancer Protocols were designed prior to the GenX being available - and GenX scans a much larger frequency range than the Pulse does...
