How to lessen the skin infections caused by running the Stye programs?

You could change the killing preset to a healing preset (Healing (R) - JW). It will be a little bit gentler.
You could also just Pause the Stye program for a few hours/days, or run it for fewer hours during the day, and wait for your body recovers and self-heals from the acne.
The acne may actually be a Herxheimer reaction to the Stye treatment. You could run the Stye program on one remote and run "Detox/Remote/Detox Maintenance (R) - JK" on the other remote to help the detox/treat the Acne.
But also consider the acne may be unrelated to the Stye program - just an unfortunate coincidence - and you could treat the acne as a separate issue.
It's all experimental. Try it all, but one at a time, and see which works best.
