Does a higher value mean the hit frequency is more significant? What frequency should be used for scanning? Is it better to use sine waves or other?

Yes, a higher value means the hit frequency is more significant.

Use the default scanning frequency range. If you load "GX General Biofeedback Scan (C) - JW" preset it will set the Start and Finish frequencies automatically.

Use the default Setting of Sine wave which is set automatically when you load "GX General Biofeedback Scan (C) - JW" preset. Other waveforms introduce harmonics which you don't want when running a biofeedback scan.
