The generators used to try and pull power over the usb line if they lost power from the main power line which could have done damage to them. The usb power fix program was made to rewrite the code in the generator to change this so it didn't try and draw power from the usb line. However we have since integrated the change into the generators as we build them, so they come pre-fixed. So unless you have an old generator you don't need it. The Spooky2 usb power fix program is obsolete at this point.
You can test them by using the utility -under the Utils heading- "identify USB devices".

If your generators have the value 0xC0 everything is fine, if you see 0x80 you can change them with the utility.
Be sure to exit spooky software before running the utility, otherwise it will not work as I found out. If spooky software is running the utility will not find any generator.
