Is there a difference in effectiveness when doing contact with Generator X or XM-generator?

For the frequencies under 5 MHz, they are the same. But the GenX can go to 40 MHz. But also realize that you only need one GeneratorX, the rest of your generators can be XMs. The GeneratorX provides the superior biofeedback, versus the XM + Spooky Pulse.
