Each Generator should have only one mode running at a time. (There are exceptions, but they are techy and more appropriate to forum discussions.) The GeneratorX has two generators within the one casing - G1 and G2 - so as Pamela has explained above, if you're running Terrain on G1, you would run your contact sessions (or other remote sessions) on G2.
