The gating function on the Spooky2-XM is handled by the software. The software will set to Amplitude to 0 and then to the amplitude value to implement a software gate. On the GeneratorX, the hardware/generator implements the gating, so you don't see the software setting the Amplitude to 0 like it does on the XM.
