When it says about scanning your DNA from your fingernail, l was wondering how you know your DNA has been uploaded? Does it confirm that it's saved it at all?

Your DNA is not uploaded. 

There are various ways to scan, depending on the equipment you have. 

• If you're using Spooky Pulse, you can place your fingernail (your DNA) into a Remote attached to the generator. You then attach the Pulse to your ear or finger to begin the scan. (Alternatively, you can connect yourself with TENS pads to the generator and do the scan in Contact mode as opposed to Remote. But either way, you must be attached to the Pulse.)

• If you're using the Sample Digitizer, you put your organic sample (e.g. blood, saliva, urine etc) between the Digitizer plates and set a relevant scan to run.

• If you're doing a GenX contact scan, you will be attached to the GenX with TENS pads. In this latter case, there is no sample or DNA required.
