The GeneratorX does not beep like the XM.
One thing to try is to ensure that the GX generator is on before you connect the USB cable.
There is a USB symbol in the top right and corner of the display of the GX.
If it is Red, it is connected but not recognized by the software. When it turns White, all is as expected.
Usually the OS is the reason the generator is not seen.
When you connect the cable to the computer, the OS should detect and install a Dual RS232 Interface.
