I don't have the same issues, but this sounds like the protocol was too much for him momentarily.
You may be able to put his nail back in and monitor so he gets benefits in the doses he can handle. It sounds like he needs to get things working better, as much pain is caused by excess toxicity in the body - and the Terrain Protocol is a great way to make sure the cleaning pathways are working well.
