About 2 years ago one of my patients just returned from the USA.
He is a chiropractor and was studying at the University of Arizona(may be wrong).
Said University conducted a trial on Castor oil and adhesive capsulitis.
Soak a flannel cloth in castor oil. Apply to shoulder add heat - like hot water bottle - wait 40 minutes for oils to absorb in skin.

Use for 6 weeks. Same results as intra-articular cortisone.
Castor oil ols are VERY anti inflammatory topically.
