Spooky2 Tens pads are easier to use because they can stick to your body, hand cylinders you would have to hold in your hands for the whole treatment time. Effectiveness wise I believe they are the same. So, most people use tens pads for contact mode. For foot baths you can use the metal hand cylinders and can't use tens pads for that. Also, for biofeedback you need to use (or way better off using) tens pads due to where you have to place them. Lastly hand cylinders are limited to your hands and foot baths. Tens pads you can pretty much put anywhere below your shoulders and focus on specific areas.
