We should run programs for a maximum of 4 hours. What if a chain takes more than 4 hours?

Maybe you are confusing a chain, with a program sequence when run via remote. The guideline is that the remote program sequence should repeat within 4 hours at the MOST because pathogens may recover in that timeframe, so all benefits from running the frequency that did damage would be lost. It's much more effective to limit the sequence to 2 hours so the repeats happen faster. But there is no limit of a chain of programs.
