Create Long Running Presets
With the advent of multi-day protocols for Spooky2, life becomes much easier if you can create long running presets that implement a particular protocol without needing to change a Spooky2 preset on a daily basis. This tool provides a methodology for creating long running presets from either existing protocols or from protocols you develop.
This tool creates .csv custom frequency database that Spooky2 can read. The tool also creates it’s own propriety data file to save and restore the tool settings/data. This tool does not create Spooky2 preset files directly, as preset files are a Spooky2 proprietary file format, so use Spooky2 to create the presets. Once your create the custom frequency database and load it into Spooky2, you can easily create your own long running presets.
To create a long running preset, you first need to specify each frequency set in the long running preset. Many of the text fields in this tool need not be filled, as the fields have defaults that are used when the field is empty. The first field that needs to be set is the “Preset Name” field, which is the name you are giving to your long running preset.
Initally the tool has only one frequency set. You may add as many frequency sets as you desire with the “Add Set” button. Each frequency set has a label to the left, “Set 1”, “Set 2”, etc. You enter the frequencies into the big text area to the right of the “Set 1” label. You enter these frequencies manually, or copy and paste the frequencies from Spooky2, or use the Search dialog to easily add frequencies after executing a search.
The “-” button next to the “Set 1” text field clears the values inside the “Set 1” text field.
The “+” button next to the “Set 1” text field opens a search dialog can be used to append frequency sets into the “Set 1” field. Each set text area has a “+” button to it’s right, that directs the search dialog’s action to that text area.
The Name field is the name of your frequency set. This is an optional field. If you don’t specify a name, one is created from the “Preset Name” field.
The Dwell field is the default dwell in seconds for your frequency set. If you don’t specify a value, the default value is 180 seconds (3 minutes).
The Duration field is the length in hours you want the frequency set to run. If you leave the Duration field empty, the default duration is 24 hours.
The Wave choice menu has the waveforms that are built into Spooky2. This is an optional field to set. If not set, the waveform in the Spooky2 user interface is used. If the frequencies in your set already have waveform specifications (i.e. 787 W3), this setting overwrites all of those. If you don’t want to overwrite existing waveform specifications, set Wave to None.
The “Remove Set” button deletes the frequency set. You cannot delete the last frequency set. If you delete a frequency set by accident, you can get it back with the Undo button.
If you want to have a pause between each frequency set, put the number of hours of pause you want in the Pause field. If left empty, there are no pauses.
The Save button saves the current state of the tool to a file on your hard drive. The browser saves the data file in its Download folder.
The Load (Browse/Choose File/Choose this value may be localized to your current language) button restores tool’s state that was saved earlier. This operation is undoable.
The “Create Set” button creates a .csv Spooky2 custom frequency database that can be read into Spooky2 via the “Select Custom Database” command in Spooky2’s Database menu. After you click the “Create Set” button, and the operation is successful, there are further instructions inserted into the Instruction text field.
To add another frequency set to your preset, click the “Add Set” button. Now a “Set 2” area appears. This operation is undoable.
The Undo button, if enabled, allows you to undo that last undoable operation. The Undo operation itself is undoable. There is only one level of undo. If you click the Undo button multiple times, you switch between the current state and the previous state only, there is no multi-level undo.
The Search dialog appears after you click the “+” buttons described above. Each frequency set has it’s own “+” button, that tells the tool to put the frequencies into a particular frequency set. Type a pattern into the “Search” field, and type the Enter key or click on the “Search” button. If your search pattern matches a frequency set in the Spooky2 database, the search dialog displays the results below the “Search” field. Clicking on one of the search result links appends that frequency set into the “Input Set” field.
The “Clear” button clears out the “Search” text field, and empties the previous search results. The “Done” button closes the Search dialog and search results.
In this tutorial, we create a 2 day long preset, with a cancer set the first day, and a diabetes set the second day.
In Spooky2, set ‘Repeat Each Set’ to 17. Use the “Select Custom Database” command under the Database menu to load My_Protocol_2016_04_21_01.28.16.csv, found in your Downloads folder. Then load the following frequency sets into your preset: Cancer Set, Diabetes Set. Place the following frequency locations into your preset comment:
Cancer Set(1/1836)
Diabetes Set(681/1836)
After the browser creates a .csv file, in Spooky2 do the following:
An example data file comes with this the archive called Example-Data-File-For-Terrain-Protocol.txt. To see this example, click the Load (Browse/Choose File/Choose this value may be localized to your current language) button and choose Example-Data-File-For-Terrain-Protocol.txt. The tool loads the current version of the Terrain Protocol.
